This is not a manifesto.

Having a manifesto in a post-postmodern, post-internet universe is downright offensive. The stuffy, sweater-wearing, tobacco-munching modernists wrote manifestos to seek answers and propagate them to the unawakened masses. What nonsense. We have all been awakened; a Reddit user claimed to have invented three new colors last week.

Death to the manifesto. Death to the Internet. We do not need answers as much as we do not need questions. We need performative expression outside the constraints of the written word. The “media” in social media might as well be like a stripper who says they love you. Words are not media. They are the signs and signifiers of self-assisted suicide (an alliteration for de Saussure). Deconstruction is the truth, the light, the way. It is the catalyst that will guide us to the promised land: post-internet. Buzzwords control our thinking. Language will eventually kill us, not hate, not love, not money, not sin, not silence. Words. Language. We kill for definitions. We deny basic human rights over usage. Our greatest enemy is the symbol, the sign, and its signifier. Hate is measured by sentences. The death of society will come from the dictionary than the history book.

Hypocrite! You scream. Using your own tactics against us. Filling ammunition for me, not for thee. What a sad machine we work in when the only key is through words, meaningless letters. Post-Internet has not blessed us with a better method yet. Speech. Speech. No action. No drive. No more mindless discourse using unstable language. No more using media outside of its intended purpose: play. Multimodality will be our lingua franca. This machine kills discourse. Post-Internet shall not be weaponized. This is not a manifesto.
